The moon is low in the east as the sky darkens, and magnitude -2.8 Jupiter is less than 3 finger-widths to the lower right. They travel across the southern sky tonight and set a couple of hours before sunrise.

The Orionid meteor shower peaks tonight, but the nearly full moon obscures all but the brightest shooting stars.
