17 Apr    Low in the east at sunset, the nearly full moon lines up with Spica, 2 finger-widths above the moon, and Saturn, 1 fist-width above Spica. Tomorrow morning, they hold the line low in the west with Spica and Saturn to the moon’s right. The moon is at perigee, 56.15 Earth-radii away.

18 Apr    Full Pink Moon at 0244 UT, 2244 EDT yesterday

19 Apr    The moon rises 2.5 hours after sunset. More than 95 percent of the moon’s surface is illuminated.

20 Apr    Low in the south before dawn, the moon is in the head of Scorpius, the Scorpion. The red star Antares is 4 finger-widths to the left.

21 Apr    Antares is 3 finger-widths to the waning gibbous moon’s lower right this morning. More than 80 percent of the moon’s surface is illuminated.

22 Apr    Rising a little after midnight, the moon is to the upper right of the Teapot constellation, Sagittarius, low in the south before dawn. About 75 percent of the moon’s surface is illuminated.

23 Apr    Before dawn, the moon is to the upper left of Sagittarius.
